il team che ha guidato il workshop (James Barrett, Bruno Costa, Peter Dagger, Tyrone Eastmond, Jessica Hiller, Marina Matsi, Dan Nation, Mateo Peschiera, Jonathan Wilson) ha sviluppato il progetto con i giovani allievi della scuola e lo ha poi realizzato in autocostruzione.

lo schermo, realizzato con una tessitura di strisce di salice su una struttura metallica, segue il sentiero e si alza fino a racchiudere la postazione per l'osservazione, adattandosi alle caratteristiche del terreno

the screen, made by weaving willow strips on a metal structure, follow the path and rises up to enclose the location for observing, adapting to the site features.

un lavoro d'artista sul carnevale una zona umida_an artist's work on carnival in a wetland

JOHN SKOOG & FEDERSEE

 

john skoog, giovane artista svedese, ha realizzato un video e una serie di immagini sul carnevale di federsee, una zona umida nel sud della germania, dove sono state censite 265 specie di uccelli.

nel video compaiono gli abitanti del villaggio mascherati da animali e una serie di fotografie che riproducono dettagli di costumi con paesaggi e animali dipinti sulla tela.

 

john skoog, a young swedish artist, has made a video and a series of images on the Federsee carnival that takes place in a a wetland in southern germany, where they were counted 265 species of birds.
in the video the villagers appear disguised as animals, the series of photographs depicts details of costumes with landscapes and animals painted on the canvas.

il progetto segue la pendenza del terreno e le sue irregolarità, offrendo all'osservatore una varietà di postazioni e punti di vista sulla zona umida. canne di bambù rivestono tutta la costruzione, rendendo geometrica e regolare l'immagine del canneto della laguna sottostante.

un capanno angolare fa da snodo a due lunghi schermi lineari. questi permettono una visione veloce e per gruppi multipli, mentre il capanno offre maggiore comodità ai professionisti e a chi dispone di più tempo. le canne degli schermi sono sostenute da una rete metallica, anche la struttura del capanno è in acciaio.

un'architettura multipla - schermo, stanza di osservazione, capanno proiettato verso il lago - che offre molteplici possibilità di osservazione per collocazione e altezza e utilizza in modi diversi tre specie di legno: abete di douglas (struttura), larice (rivestimento) e quercia (cornici, davanzali e panche).

l'articolazione della forma che accompagna la collocazione delle aperture visuali e l'alternanza di elementi costruttivi di diverse dimensioni alleggeriscono il volume della costruzione. 

 

a multiple architecture - screen, observation room, hut projected towards the lake - which provides many opportunities for observation due to their placement and height and which uses in different ways three species of wood: douglas fir (structure), larch (cladding) and oak (frames, window sills and benches).
the articulation of the form that follows the visual openings and the alternation of different sized constructive elements lighten the building volume.

sopralluogo a tetto lupo con gli esperti dell'oasi della madonnina

 

siamo tornati sul nostro sito di progetto con Andrea, Beppe e Riccardo gestori dell'Oasi della Madonnina, che hanno visitato il luogo e ci hanno suggerito una serie di indicazioni per il progetto:

 

_realizzare lo schermo su tutti i tre lati dell'area con una piccola parte coperta per riparare dalla pioggia

 

_realizzare aperture in varie direzioni (verso il lago e verso il bosco) in modo da poter realizzare avvistamenti di uccelli diversi in diverse stagioni

 

_realizzare aperture ad altezze diverse per adulti e bambini

 

per la nostra scatola di costruzioni ci è stato anche suggerito di utilizzare come materiale per lo schermo il resto del taglio delle travi a quattro fili, una tavola semicircolare di spessore e sezione irregolare (vedi immagine)

 

mentre lasciavamo il lago, un cormorano si è alzato in volo a salutarci

we visited our project site with Andrea, Beppe and Riccardo who run the Oasi della Madinnina birdwatching site. they gave us a list of important suggestions:
 
_build the screen along all the three sides of the area with a small covered part to repair from the rain

_design openings in various directions (towards the lake and towards the woods) in order to be able to watch different kind of birds in different seasons

_build openings at different heights for adults and children

for our building box they suggested as a material to build the screens the rest of the cut of the square timber beams, semicircular plate irregular in thickness and section (see the picture)

as we left the lake, a cormorant stood up in flight to wave us

lungo il fiume stura, una ventina di km a nord della nostra area di progetto si trova l'oasi della madonnina, una riserva naturalistica di grande interesse per la varietà degli habitat e la ricchezza di specie che la frequentano.

 

abbiamo visitato l'oasi con i volontari che la gestiscono, che ci hanno mostrato i dettagli delle postazioni di osservazione e dei capanni e fornito una serie di indicazioni e preziosi consigli per realizzare il nostro punto di osservazione, in particolare su:
